Research Associate in Networked Control

The University of Luxembourg seeks to hire outstanding postdoctoral researchers at its Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) http://www.securityandtrust.lu. SnT is a recently formed centre carrying out interdisciplinary research in secure, reliable and trustworthy ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) systems and services, often in collaboration with industrial, governmental or international partners. A successful candidate will conduct research in one or more of the centre projects and assist in the development of the SnT project portfolio. The Centre invites researchers from diverse research areas to contribute to our projects in areas such as Satellite Systems, Vehicular Networks, Network Security, and ICT Services and Applications.

Candidates should have a PhD (or be near completion) and a strong research and publication record relevant to the position.
Research Associate in Networked Control (m/f)

Information and Communication Technologies are becoming crucial in both the fields of Energy and Transport Systems, e.g. electric traction and smart grids, addressing both energy efficiency and reliability. The candidate will model, analyze and simulate especially electric power systems, design the networked control structures and develop the relevant control methods for increased energetic performance and supply reliability. A background in one or more of the following areas is of advantage: networked stability of binary feedback systems, reliable and redundant networked control, reliability and efficiency related modeling.

Offer:
The duration of the position is 24 months and may be extended up to five years. The starting date is during 2013. The University offers highly competitive salaries based on the candidate's experience and is an equal opportunity employer.
